Modernization and Optimization of a Health App
Software Development
UI/UX Design
The ANS Clinic app is a mobile patient application for iOS and Android for recording and analyzing individual health data—technically revived and modernized after the original version was no longer functional.
Originally developed by a third party in 2017, the app was technically outdated and no longer available in app stores. As part of this project, the application was modernized through refactoring and updating the software frameworks (e.g., Angular 5) so that it could be re-released in app stores (Google Play, Apple App Store) and further developed in the long term.
The Problem
The following points illustrate the initial situation and the challenges that we gradually addressed and resolved throughout the project.
-
After the last update in 2023, the app was no longer functional and could no longer be used by patients.
-
The existing code was outdated, confusing, and lacked a clear structure or sufficient documentation.
-
The original development team was no longer available.
-
The actual project scope was initially underestimated – what seemed like a small update turned into a comprehensive refurbishment project.
